Curve of the by TNO used UMTS signal.
TNO has stated that they used the guidelines of ETSI TS 125 102 for the definition of the UMTS signal. But theese are only meant for an UMTS-TDD signal.
The signal, like in the picture BELOW does NOT show a TD-CDMA signal, but a W-CDMA signal (FDD), like they are going to be used in the Netherlands.

It is striking, that normally a TD-CDMA signal is heavily pulsed and a W-CDMA signal not.
In spite of this the period time of the signals is ca. 0,066ms, which means 15.000 Hz puls.

Indeed only four control channels, thus without any traffic, but still pulsed with 15.000 Hz. Compared with a standard GSM-organization channel is this a factor 9 times higher.
(Mobile phone are pulsed with 217 Hz; base stations with 1733 Hz).
(It is unclear if this pulsrate of 15 KHz will exist when real traffic is used!)

Based on the assumption, that the induction of body currents increases with the frequency, the steepness of amplitude and the height of the amplitude (dynamics), than a stronger reaction with UMTS opposed to GSM is explicable.
If people already react to GSM signals, with UMTS this will increase.
The more reason for applying the precautionary principe.

One may wonder how these signals will be looking when indeed data traffic will occur, which is till now not the case!

TNO kritiek.pdf | criticism on TNO Rapport from a Swiss Forschungsstiftung

On June 28th the Gezondheidsraad (Dutch Health Council) has given a pressrelease about the wish for further UMTS research.

Pressrelease

GR advies TNO-onderzoek.pdf

But the conclusions of the GR are not correct. They have the opinion that no effects with GSM have been observed.
That conclusion is wrong.

Obviously the GR cannot read.
In the first place, they did not take into consideration, that the test persons, when first being exposed to the heavy UMTS, and in continuation (after a pause of only 30 minutes) being exposed to the less heavy GSM radiation, they were in no position to feel the difference because the UMTS effects were still present.

TNO has assumed to find only effects on short terms and did not consider a cumulative effect.
Moreover, the people from group A are already exposed to GSM radiation at home, and even on quantities levels as used while testing. On the one side, they are pre-charged already and on the other hand the test is no challenge, but something they are already used to.

But if one looks at the total-scores of both groups, it is apparent that in *training* group A (the elektrosensibles) this amounted 5,72 and with group B 1,83.
The totalscore with GSM900 amounted with group A 8,71 and with group B 2,25.
That means a significant difference also for the GSM expostition.

Nor TNO nor the Gezondheidsraad have any understanding for the phenomenon *electrosensibility*.

Technical objections concerning the TNO Study:

1. They did not measure the radiation directly in the vicinity of the persons.
They *calculated* that, from 3 meter away.
2. They speak about an electrical AC field of 0.71 V/m and 1 V/m. However the in the Rapport mentioned measuring probe of Holaday starts from 3 V/m to 300 V/m. This probe could not measure the given values at all! Here someone has applied magic; that is improper and un-technical!
3. The electric field probe was placed very close to the Antennas. That is in the *near field*. General rule is, that in the near field also the magnetic field must be measured. However in the Report there is no magnetic probe to be found.
4. A GSM signal cannot be imitated in a frequency generator, because it is very unstable, whimsical and very fast changeable. And only four of the eight channels were used; that is not conform reality.
5. The GSM signals as well as the UMTS signals were only used as organisation channel.
The in reality passing data
traffic was not considerd. (That raises the load).

In any case, it is good that there will be further research on UMTS.

This ETH study is not a real replication, because GSM900 and GSM1800 are not included.

They use only UMTS. The TNO-Cofam study used only 1 V/m.
The Swiss now use 1 V/m plus 10 V/m, or 2652 and 265.251 uW/m2.

Timefactor with electrosensibility

The TNO Cofam Study as well as the coming swiss ETH Study can be regarded as worthless in relation to the experiencing of HF radiation. The intermission breaks should be at minimum a full day, and in a radiation free surrounding; not in a laboratory with so many antennas.

The *scientists* do not have the slightest idea what electrosensibility implies.
The test persons are shortly *radiated*, do have a short break, and are next *radiated* again.
But that does not work this way. Humans are not mechanical robots and pressing a button does not result instantly into a perception of *feeling something*.

A characteristic of electrosensibilty is, that the time between exposure and perception can be quite different and various. And for every person different.
There are persons who feel something within minutes. Others after approximately 20 minutes. Yet others, who are troubled today, from an exposure of yesterday.

An important factor is also, how high the preliminary load is. And with the preliminary load the total of electrosmog plays an important role, so also the lowfrequent sources..
Did the test persons came by public transport? By train? By tram? By bus?
Were they previously in a supermarket with fluorescent lighting, halogen lamps, deepfreezers, and elektronical tills? Was in the hotel a DECT phone? A wireless computersystem?
Did the bed in the bedroom contain metal parts, like for example a boxspring?
Than the test persons are surely heavy preliminary loaded.

What the*scientists* also do not understand, is the fact, that the load can be precipitated in the body very quickly, but that the body needs a very long time in order to discharge this load.
This discharge may take two days up to a whole week. On the condition, that this may take place in a radiationfree surrounding.

So, if suffering of sleeplessness, other causes need to be considered. I mean that one checks a mobile phone mast in the vicinity (or DECT or Wlan at the dear neighbours).
No, one has to think quite hard which other sources one is exposed to during daytime.
For example on the place of work. Fluorescent lights, halogen lamps, metal undercarriages of tables which may contain heavy magnetic DC fields. Computer monitors. DECT phones in other rooms. And of course the there present radiation of mobile phone masts.
The body will be *charged* there already.
The disturbance sources at home are then the drop, which lets the bucket flow over.
It is very often heard, that people when on holiday in a radiation free surrounding, feel free and *reborn* after one or two days. But after homecoming do have their complaints very fast.

So, when electrosensibles suffer from sleeplessness in a radiationfree bedroom, it may have to do with the exposures during daytime, because the body did not have enough time in order to *process* this.

Electrosensibles should investigate for themselves:
- when they are exposed to electrosmog,
- when they experience the complaints, and
- when these complaints lessen again (at leaving those sources)).

Prof. Karl Hecht has in his 4 PDF files (200 pages) in his criticism of Silny's Frequentia, also written a lot about the timefactor. He also criticizes, that only short-term tests are done.
The Russians did undertake many long-term tests, but those are greatly ignored overhere.

It may be clear, that when the pre-load is small, an exposure can be *processed* quicker, than when the pre-load is big. It may take then a long time.

Read on Highfrequent 3

But when we look at this study from another angle, some new questions come to the surface:

There was a control group and a number of *electrosensible* persons. Nobody knows if these persons were indeed really electrosensible. They were not examined; a self-declaration formular was sufficient.

Many electrosensibles in Switserland are a member of Gigaherz.ch. It is very odd, that after many calls from Gigaherz.ch to come forward, only 4 = four persons did report. All four reported their experienced troubles on their ETH study.

In the report, that is the peer-review article, nothing can be found.
This was astonishing to those persons, because they reported it as such.

The question arises if from the 33 socalled *electrosensibles* only 4 were real electrosensible, and the others just simulants who wanted to participate under false flag in order to influence the outcome.
It is also very peculiar, that the *electrosensibles* were not examined at all or questioned on their merites. That way everybody can declare himself electrosensible, even a *Mobilfunker* !

None of all those scientific bozo's poses those questions.
They put 485.000 Euro on the table, in order that already before the official announcement of the results were presented, the dutch secretary of environment, van Geel, could crow on RTL-TV: *UMTS is harmless*

So according to the results of this investigation, when read carefully, all UMTS transmitters may transmit for 45 minutes per week, and the rest of the time be shut off. And about 3.4 % of the population may experience health problems.
Because that is the real conclusion, where van Geel and cs. pass by.

Perhaps you are thinking that this is all farfetched?

Could it be that the ETH Study has been manipulated?

Sure. Read the german issue of *het bitje* September

Here another testimonial, this time from a lawyer:

Person will keine Angaben machen.

In sharper contrast to the Conclusion of the pressrelease of ETH is:

The subjects were not able to perceive the actual exposure conditions of the UMTS-radiation.

It seems, as if the draftsmen did not read the remarks of the psychologists, the subjects and others.

Besides, the dutch State Secretary van Geel did have his TV speech with RTL recorded a week in advance, so before the official statements were made!
Victory was proclaimed, but with no reason at all.
His statements are absurd and totally misplaced.
The investigation did not show that UMTS is harmless.
In 45 minuten some subjets got very unwell.
Nothing was investigated about long-term, so nothing can be said about that.
Only inhabitants, which are radiated already longer, can.

Remarkable is also, that nobody knows, to how much radiation the subjects were exposed to. During the test, no measurements were done!
They only measured before and after the test; and I have the impression, that they have juggled with some SAR values. The computer ruled everything.
Perhaps somebody pressed a wrong key. Who will ever know?

There is no "full report". We published our paper in a peer-reviewed journal, as it is scientific praxis, and all the necessary information is provided in the paper.
Regards, p. achermann

We only have the peer-reviewed article, no real report. No details and everything is very vague.
Nowhere can be found what mark and type of E-sonde they used, etc.
The same mistake was made as TNO did: the E-sonde was placed directly in front of the antenna, so in the near-filed (the far-field begins at 1.40m). So, the magnetic field should have been measured also. Did they?
It is also strange, that it is mentioned, that only before and after the test they measured the radiation. But if they measured with a fixed E-sonde in front of the antenna, nobody knows the radiation quantity at the subject at 2 meter distance.
(Perhaps they did use a Spectran from Aaronia?)

In theTNO report, graphics of the used signals can be found; with ETH nothing is known sofar.

The question arises, if they used a real UMTS signal. In any case quite different.
With TNO the GSM signal was not real (only 4 of the 8 timeslots in use).

In any case the by ETH used UMTS signal was very different from the one used by TNO.

The Swiss Bundesamt für Metrologie und Akkreditierung (METAS) is still discussing the inaccuracy with a factor 4.3 by eight different measurement meters for UMTS (all in the price range of more than 25.000 Euro), but nevertheless Niels Kuster, one of the researchers, mentioned a measuring accuracy of 5% . So the METAS can learn a lot from him.
For the moment we have to assume, that the radiation of the subjects, because of these mysterious measuring differences, may amount in stead of 1V/m as well as 0.23V/m.

This ETH investigation is no replica of the TNO investigation, but a quite different one, with entirely other parameters.
And that should be replicated by others..

A real report can not be found. Nobody can assess if the investigation was done correctly.
How did the question lists look like? An analysis is not possible.

Of the 117 persons only *44 tests* have been analysed. Why? Nobody understands that.
What happened to the other 73?
Or did 73 persons break off the test, and do not account statistically?
Statistically seen is the greater number of subjetcs good, but the proportion ratio electrosensibles to non-electrosensibles is here quite different from TNO.

The electrosensibles are *self declared* without any test. Were all electrosensibles really electrosensible? Perhaps there were some *Mobilfunkers* who wish to influence the results.

In a dutch newspaper, prof.dr.ir. Peter Zwamborn, the TNO leader, and participant in the scientific expert panel in the design of the ETH study, wondered about the outcome. Obviously, even he does not have a report.

Zwamborn poses that the Swiss investigation was carried out professionally, but would like to obtain more insight in the used correction factors with certain results. „If a result falls outside an expected range, one may dispose it, from the opinion, that the observation is not correct.
How this happened in this study is not clear to me.”
So a member of the expert panel does not know that !!!!!!!
So they kept that secret for him!

Questions, questions, questions.

And Zwamborn mentioned earlier, that the starting point of the TNO study was to prove that there should be no effects, and he himself was flabbergasted, when they did occur.
In that he is very honest about.
The impression occurs, that the ETH investigation wanted to prove pertinently, that no effects were allowed to apprear. Because that is in the interest of ALL sponsors of the study.
Without a report with data and graphics, one cannot check the ETH study, or compare with the TNO study. Certainly with the many changed parameters.
And still one runs down the TNO study. We feel not justified.

Dr. Peter Achermann, the leader of the ETH study states:

*There is no "full report". We published our paper in a peer-reviewed journal, as it is scientific praxis, and all the necessary information is provided in the paper.*

So there is a study of 485.000 Euro and no full report. That is incomprehensible.
Totally incomprehensible and unacceptable.

One may also assume, that this peer-review without a report with real data, is not done properly.

And thus, one cannot compare the TNO with the ETH study.

ETH claims that the participants were subjected to maximal 0,2 uT = 200 nT.
That is a lot of magnetic field strength.
Certainly when the subjects were exposed to great magnetic fields while traveling by public transport to Zurich, plus the many transmitter masts overthere.

No, this ETH investigation is a shambles.

ETH study independant?

The ETH study has cost 723.000 swiss francs, orl 485.000 Euro. 40 % paid by the industry and 60 % by government sources; swiss and dutch. To these government sources belong FOUR dutch ministries. How much those ministries have contributed to these 291.000 Euro is unclear.
But it is known, that the accumulated funds were administered by Dr.Gregor Dürrenberger, leader of the Forschungssstiftung Mobilkommunikation. These funds were not immediately spent, but always paid in small amounts. Only after each interim report, which had to be judged and approved, a part of the money was paid.
Objective? Independent?

On the website www.vrom.nl/antennes can be read:
Daarnaast heeft het Rijksinstituut voor Volksgezondheid en Milieu (RIVM) het onderzoek nu al kwalitatief beoordeeld. Dit omdat contractueel is vastgelegd dat alleen de financiers van het onderzoek er vooraf inzage in konden krijgen.
So?
It was everyday mentioned by ETH, that nobody, and nobody, should see any results of the study beforehand.
Now, the dutch ministry VROM announced that they saw and assessed the results beforehand (on 23 May) and by contract.

Striking is also, that the RIVM only did assess the peer-review magazine article. How could they do that seriously, without having the needed data?

A normal person may have trouble in understanding some posed questions.
However, a lawyer is trained to consider every question and every answer and weigh that on a gold-balance and realising the consequences of every question very well.

When a lawyer as such declares that she did not realise what was asked in the response lists, and what she answered, one may assume that the other testpersons also may have filled in anything that came to mind, and did not interest a damn bit at all.

Besides the fact, that these persons experienced troubles long after exposure, it may be clear that the quality of the filled-in formulars are highly suspect and dubious, because the persons involved were not quite sane and not full-conscious.

They were like sleep-walking (while in a nightmare).

It is there now: ETH research, publication in Environmental Health Perspectives

As usual. the press announcement differs from what is written in the report.

We did not see the report itsself, only the publication of the peer-reviewed article.

And there the questions arise immediately .

They (ETH) blame the TNO Cofam research, that their used radiation beam of the antenna only had an angle of 5 degrees, and that by that a large difference in radiation spots at the test persons could occur.
That is why the ETH used another type of antenna, which shows a much wider radiation angle and should give a better overall radiation level.
It is therefore astonishing, that with the same (as TNO) and 10-fold radiation quantity, and as such more evenly over the body, NO effects were found.

That is in sharp contrast to the de testimonials of some participants of this ETH investigation.

Roger Meier has taken part in this investigation. "I had to travel to Zürich four times. The first time for a trial run. The second, third and fourth time for a radiation with 0, 1 or 10 Volt per meter. They told me that every evening only one intensity was used. In the shielded room was a wooden table with a keyboard, a flat monitor, mouse and a box with knobs. The chair was placed over a cross on the floor. My head was about two meters from the antennea, a small antenna of 10 by 15 centimeter on a tripod. Behind me was a camera, the behaviour of the test subjects was recorded on video. Every evening, I had to work on two cognitive tests of fifteen minutes on the computer. Before and after the test I filled up a questionary list about my well-being."

Meier had the feeling that he was not radiated the first evening, the second evening with 1 Volt per meter and the third with 10 Volt per meter. "The third evening became for me again and again more unbearable. Shortly before the intermission I became unwell. I could hardly continue. But I finished the test, because I suspected that my results would disappear in the waste-basket . Happily I came by train, I do not know how I got home. My wife asked about my condition, because I looked very ill. The following days I had a strong migraine, which I never had before. The week after that, I had enormous toothache. I have filled up my health complaints on a questionary list and sent to the university, but nobody showed any concern about my problems."

Armin Furrer lived in Visp, Switserland, with multiple antennas in the vicinity. He could not sleep anymore and got brain haemorrhages. "One and a half year ago, an antenna of Vodafone was added. I had to throw up, got headache and tension in my muscles. I was examined by a psychiatrist and specialists and found healthy. Then I noticed that I improved in a vicinity without antennas." Furrer has moved to a village without antenna and can perform his profession as cabinet-maker as usual. He took part in the investigation of the ETH. "I have fely twice that 10 Volt per meter was used. My perception checked with the video images. The psychologist said: 'I see that you move differently, with cramped muscles, you do not sit quiet'. Half an hour later I got a bloody tongue."

(See presspaper by Frans van Velden 28 Januari 2006.)

More lies about this ETH Studie, known on 30-07-2008.

See document from Bawa.

That shows , that the dutch Health Counsil already in November 2006 was informed, that with the ETH Study a fall-out was of up to 6,5 %. And that was suppressed all the time.

Except a very scanty magazine-article there is still no normal report about this ETH study. Also the four dutch ministeries, who did pay a flimsy contribution of 400.000 Euros, do not require a report.

Well, without a good report, we are not able to judge about this study. Scientifically seen, it does not exist.

Here an excellent article about UMTS signals by Dr.-Ing. Martin Virnich

And here another article by him : Eine aktuelle Bestandsaufnahme

Here a description of an UMTS testsignal.

Virnich points out in above article UMTS-Signals:

If there is somebody who knows about signals, measuring and measuring techniques, it is the author of the aforementioned article, Dr.-Ing. Martin H. Virnich.

And if we read it carefully, he poses that for studies regarding biological effects of UMTS signals a number of different signals are possible, because with the composition of it, a lot of liberties and adjustment parameters are at one's disposal.
Therefore it is desirable that only agreed difined signals are used.
With this ETH study, nobody knows what kind of signals were used!

It looks like, that those Swiss are hiding something.

With the TNO study, the antenna had the form of a lance; with ETH the form of a ball.
Think about that!
Below the radiation pattern of the by TNO used GSM antenna. The test person was sitting at a distance of 3 m. Thus, the body was only *radiated*.
The ETH amtenna radiates in the form of a ball, but how is unknown.

In order to obtain 1 V/m at 3 meter distance is quite different like on for instance at 300 meters.
